CONCERT BANDS
Below you will find information on the Braden River Concert Band Programs.
Wind Ensemble
Wind Ensemble is our highest level concert group consisting of students who have 4 or more years experience in band. The band will consist of students from grades 9-12 who will be placed in the band based on their audition. The group will play very challenging high school literature (grades 5 and 6). They will participate in FBA Concert Band MPA (Contest) and perform 3 concerts throughout the year. Students are also encouraged to audition for All-State, and perform in the Solo & Ensemble event at FBA. BRHS band department-approved concert attire is a required purchase, and will be ordered through the Band Boosters.
Symphonic Band
Symphonic Band is designed for students who have had 2 or 3 years of band experience. The groups will play challenging but standard (grades 3 and 4) high school literature, and participate in FBA Concert Band MPA (Contest). These bands will perform 3 concerts throughout the year. Members should expect to practice on a daily basis in order to keep up in these ensembles. BRHS band department-approved concert attire is a required purchase, and will be ordered through the Band Boosters.
Beginning Band
Beginning Band is a group designed for students who have little or no band experience. Starting with Essential Elements book one, Beginning Band works at an accelerated pace in order to prepare students for Concert Band the following year. Instrument rental from a music store is highly recommended for students to achieve a high level of success in Beginning Band.
